Carpal Tunnel Release with Ultrasound Guidance

Carpal tunnel release with real-time ultrasound guidance (CTR-US) was initially described by Nakamichi in 1997.^{10, 11} Since then, over 30 peer reviewed publications have reported clinical results on over 3,000 hands (>2,500 patients) treated with CTR-US. ^{7, 11-22} The collective clinical success rate is over 95%, with these publications documenting the safety and effectiveness of CTR-US, an excellent safety profile, and the ability to perform the procedure in the office-based setting.^{7, 11-22}

Clinical Experience

The first CTR using UltraGuideCTR™ with real-time ultrasound guidance was performed February 17, 2017.

• Over 30,000 procedures completed including many bilateral simultaneous releases^12-22
• Procedures performed in the ASC, OR and clinic office setting – most procedures performed using only local anesthesia/WALANT technique^{12-15, 17, 19-22}
• Post-operative discomfort typically managed with acetaminophen or NSAIDs as necessary^{12, 13-15, 17-22}
• Statistically and clinically significant improvements in patient reported outcome measures as early as 1-2 weeks and sustained at up to 6 years post-procedure^{12, 13, 15, 16, 18, 19, 21, 22}
• Most patients can return to work in 3-5 days^{12, 16, 19, 20}
